HIITS (High Intensity Interval Training)
High Intensity Interval Training is a vital part of equestrian fitness as riding takes bursts of energy with quick recovery periods (think about riding a course and immediately having to go into a jump off). HIIT is a type of interval training that targets high cardiovascular activity. The process of HIIT is to alternate between intense, hard exercise with periods of relief or rest. This is repeated to build overall strength throughout the body.
